Lani Desmonet Lydic, aka Desi Lydic, is an American comedian, actress, correspondent, and influencer. She is nationally recognized for being the senior correspondent and rotating host for a late-night talk show and news satire program, The Daily Show. Her comedic timing paired with storytelling ability makes her one of the best The Daily Show hosts.
As an actress, she has been featured in several films and TV series, such as Not Another Teen Movie (2001), The Real Wedding Crashers (2007), and Awkward (2011-2016). On September 29, 2015, she joined Trevor Noah‘s as a correspondent for The Daily Show. Since then, she has been a regular senior correspondent and sometimes rotating host after the departure of Trevor Noah from The Daily Show.

At the age of three, after watching Annie (1982), Desi became fascinated by comedic acting. In 2001, she officially started her journey through a parody film, Not Another Teen Movie.
She created her first ever 1-hour special entitled “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Presents Desi Lydic: Abroad” on Comedy Central on May 13, 2019.
